Tonight’s Message, Born to be Given, walks us through the gift of Jesus. In Isaiah 9:6-7, we find a powerful prophecy that reveals the names of Jesus, each one pointing to a crucial aspect of His divine mission. These names serve as a reminder of who Jesus is and what He came to accomplish for humanity.

1. Wonderful: Jesus is truly wonderful in every sense of the word. His life, miracles, death, and resurrection are full of awe and wonder. The story of Jesus is a divine mystery and marvel that stirs our hearts. He is the fulfillment of the miraculous plan of salvation—a plan that no human could have conceived. He is the wonder we all need to behold.

2. Counselor: Jesus is our perfect Counselor. He offers divine wisdom and guidance for every aspect of our lives. As Colossians 2:3 reveals, in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Jesus doesn’t just give advice; He provides direction that leads us to true fulfillment. His counsel is not temporary, but eternal and reliable, guiding us through life’s most difficult decisions.

3. Mighty God: Jesus is not merely a man, but He is fully God. In John 10:30, Jesus declares, “I and my Father are one.” He possesses all the power and authority of the Almighty God. As Mighty God, He has the power to create, to heal, and to save. His divine power is evident in His miracles and His victory over sin and death. There is no limit to His strength, and He is worthy of all our worship.

4. Everlasting Father: Jesus is the Everlasting Father, the source of eternal life. He is the Father of eternity, the one who holds the keys to everlasting life. As John 11:25-26 teaches, He is the resurrection and the life, the only way to eternal life. Jesus, through His death and resurrection, offers us access to the eternity that He alone can give. He is the One who grants us the security of being with Him forever.

5. Prince of Peace: Jesus is the Prince of Peace, offering peace in the midst of life’s storms. In John 14:27, Jesus promises, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” The peace He offers transcends all understanding and is not dependent on our circumstances. In a world full of chaos, He is the anchor of peace for our souls. His peace comforts us in suffering, strengthens us in turmoil, and calms our anxieties.

Jesus Was Born to Be Given: Isaiah 9:6 reminds us that this Savior was born to be given to us. Jesus was born as a human to walk among us, to suffer, and ultimately to die for us. He is a gift from God, as John 3:16 declares: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son…” Through Jesus, we receive the greatest gift—eternal life and reconciliation with God.
