How to Walk on Water (Without Getting Wet)
In this compelling message based on Matthew 14:22–33, Pastor Richard offers a practical and faith-filled guide to stepping out of our comfort zones and into the extraordinary things God calls us to. Using Peter’s bold (yet brief) experience walking on water toward Jesus, Pastor Richard outlines four essential principles for overcoming fear and embracing divine assignments:
Get Rid of Your Fears – Fear, especially fear of rejection or failure, keeps us from serving God fully. But Christ’s presence is the antidote to our anxieties.
Seek God’s Will – Like Peter, we must ask for permission and direction before stepping out. God honors those who desire His leading.
Get Out of the Boat – Growth requires movement. Faith means stepping into the unknown, trusting Jesus to sustain us.
Keep Your Eyes on Jesus – When Peter focused on the wind, he sank. When we focus on circumstances or people instead of Christ, we do the same. Keep your gaze fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
This sermon challenges listeners to consider what “water” they might be called to walk on—what hard or seemingly impossible task lies ahead—and to step forward with courage and trust in God’s sustaining power.
